Core Programs

*Resource Development:*	Provides financial support to affiliated organizations that nurture children and support youth, strengthen and support individuals and families, and promote the health and well being of people with disabilities and the elderly.
*Organizational Management Services:*	Helps build the capacity of nonprofit organizations in areas such as program development, fundraising, board development, budget, and finances. Promotes nonprofit operating Standards of Excellence. Offers grant administration and program management for community based organizations.
*2-1-1 Tulare County:*	Provides comprehensive information and referral regarding health & human services, 24 hours, 7 days a week. Web-based Resource Directory that provides comprehensive information on health and human services. www.211TulareCounty.org.
*Direct Assistance*	Provides emergency food, shelter, and utility assistance to families in Tulare County through the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP). Gives individuals and businesses an opportunity to assist famiis with food and gifts during the holiday season through Adopt-a-Family.
*Community Building Initiative:*	Assists rural communities develop and implement asset based community plans of action.
*Public Policy:*	United Way works collaboratively with partners in the private and public sector to affect lasting changes in communities.
*College Access Initiative:*	Provides a vehicle to address the higher education "gap" in Tulare County in partnership with K-12 schools and private/pubic investors.
